Program Description
The discovery of new iron-based superconductors has generated another intense wave of research in the high Tc field. With transition temperatures as high as 55 K, this new family of compounds opens a new playground to better understand the phenomenon of high temperature superconductivity. One striking similarity between the iron-based and copper-based superconductors is that both have an antiferromagnetic ground state for the parent compounds and that superconductivity emerges as the magnetic ordering is suppressed. In this talk, I will present our recent ARPES study aiming to understand the nature of this competing magnetic phase.
