Event Details:
Speaker: Xin He, LBNL
Program Description:
High-performance rechargeable batteries are attracting increasing attention as high energy storage candidates in energy storage systems for electric vehicles and smart electrical grids. Extensive research has thus focused on the development of new high energy density batteries that can store more lithium/sodium at faster rates with stable cycle performance. In this presentation, some developments made in the field of lithium ion/metal batteries and sodium ion batteries would be introduced, structural and morphological characterization for the capacity fading and failure mechanism in lithium/sodium batteries will be discussed.
