Claudiu Stan

PULSE Alumni

Personal Website:

Claudiu got his undergraduate degree in physics (with a focus on lasers and optics) from University of Bucharest. He moved to the US for a Physics Ph.D. in experimental ultracold atoms in the group of Wolfgang Ketterle focusing on quantum degenerate fermionic gases, and then spent time as a postdoc and research associate in the group of George Whitesides, working on ice nucleation, microfluidic hydrodynamics, self-assembly, complex systems, electrostatics and flame research. At PULSE, his current interests are the hydrodynamics of microfluidic systems for in-vacuum sample delivery, optical imaging of fast phenomena, and phase transitions in metastable liquids.
