PULSE Institute - 20th Anniversary Symposium

About this event

Ten years after its last milestone celebration, PULSE marks its 20th anniversary with a full day of talks, panels, and reflection on two decades of ultrafast science. Many of the field's defining breakthroughs — attosecond X-rays, solid-state high harmonics, X-ray ghost imaging, and single-particle X-ray diffraction — were born or advanced within the Institute, in partnership with the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS). This symposium looks back at that legacy and ahead to what the next 20 years may bring, organized around four emerging frontiers: structure and dynamics in biology, ultrafast extreme conditions, complexity in quantum dynamics, and imaging electron dynamics.

Each session pairs a keynote address with a moderated panel connecting future opportunities to PULSE's present work and 20-year history. The day includes a poster session, a concluding reception, and a celebratory dinner.
